Dear Department of Architecture Students,
I would like to thank you for your patience and resilience through the unforeseen consequences of the Pandemic on the graduate education and 2019-2020 Spring term; on the behalf of our Department I have to state that we are proud of your achievements. One point that you have been waiting to be clarified is how the compulsory summer practices (ARCH 399 and 499) will be conducted. University administration has been working on common principles for summer practice.
The University and the Department have concluded the conditions for the compulsory summer practice ARCH 499. Near the standard architectural office practice to be conducted in place, it will be possible to make the architectural office practice as on-line performed from a distance. There might be offices to work in place, on-line or both. With this decision you will have multiple choices for searching the architectural office practice. It is in your benefit that TEDU has passed to online education rapidly. While other universities will be performing studios in summer, you will be able to find summer practice opportunities. The numbers of candidate graduate students will decline and you will have more chance for acceptance.
As the new conditions have been clarified and the possibilities of finding office summer practice have increased, please begin the application procedures. Attached is the PDF document defining the 30 working day 499 Summer Practice. You can reach the form from this link: https://arch.tedu.edu.tr/tr/arch/form-ve-belgeler. After your application is accepted by an office, fill the form, get it approved by the office representative. Please also attach your Turkish ID and the digital copy of the first page of your ID card. Then return these documents to Dr. Heves Beşeli via e-mail, who will approve them and direct them to the related TEDU office.
We are trying to complete the conditions for the construction site practice ARCH 399, which will be a solution covering all the students who have to take this course. You will be informed once the conditions are defined. For the time being the students do not have to do any procedures for ARCH 399.
